So it did not turn out as you wanted. The thing broke or was so poorly designed as to be useless. The benefits were greatly exaggerated. It didn't come close to expectations.  None of the bad effects and affects of technology are ever studied with impartial rigor. Companies will sell you anything. So you the individual must by law suffer. And because we buy the stuff, we're partly to blame.

Astronomers and astrophysicists warn us about booming our TV shows out into the cosmos. These EM transmissions can be easily intercepted. But alien attack is not the biggest worry. The big worry is that our people will become zombies - one-dimensional zombies, asleep and all interconnected in a diabolical fashion.

The actual EM energy radiating from all these devices may have physical effects, triggering cancers, but much worse are the psychological and sociological side-effects of compulsive video-game playing, trivial cell phone conversations and, most seriously, the very dumbed down TV and pop music that the corporations are feeding our children and ourselves.
